How the process works
Get pre-approved
A soft credit check, 10 minutes online. You'll have a letter the same day that sellers take seriously.
Make an offer
Your loan officer is reachable by phone or text — not a call centre — while you're negotiating.
Appraisal and underwriting
We order the appraisal within 24 hours and underwrite in parallel, not one after the other.
Close
Average 21 days from contract to keys. You'll get a clear breakdown of every dollar three days before closing.
What will my car payment be?
New, used or refinance — the rate changes, the maths doesn't.
No application fee and no prepayment penalty. Pay the loan off early and you pay less interest, full stop.

What will a personal loan cost?
Fixed rate, fixed term, no collateral. Money lands in your Meridian account the same day you're approved.
Checking your rate uses a soft credit pull and won't affect your score. Only a full application does.
Estimated monthly payment
$477/ month
Estimate only. A 1% origination fee is assumed and folded into the APR.
Consolidate high-rate debt
Replace three cards at 24% with one fixed payment at 11%. Most borrowers save $180 a month.
Home improvement
A new roof or kitchen without touching your mortgage or your emergency fund.
One big, planned expense
A wedding, a move, a medical bill — funded in a day, paid off on a schedule you choose.
Why borrow from Meridian
Decisions made by people, not just models
Same-day decisions
Auto and personal loan applications get a decision in about four hours during business hours. Mortgages get a pre-approval the same day.
No surprise fees
No application fee, no prepayment penalty, no "document preparation" charge. The closing disclosure you get is the number you pay.
A banker with a name
You get a direct line and a direct email. The person who takes your application is the person who calls you at closing.
Loan questions
Answers before you apply
Will checking my rate hurt my credit score?
No. Checking a rate with Meridian uses a soft inquiry, which is invisible to other lenders and doesn't affect your score. A full application uses a hard inquiry, typically a five-point dip that recovers within a few months.
How much house can I afford?
A common guideline is keeping total housing costs below 28% of gross monthly income and total debt below 36%. Our calculator lets you test any combination — the mortgage payment above includes taxes and insurance so you can compare it directly to your budget.
Can I pay extra without a penalty?
Yes, on every loan we offer. Extra payments go straight to principal by default, and you can set up a recurring extra amount in the app. On a $360,000 mortgage at 6.375%, an extra $200 a month saves roughly $118,000 in interest and pays the loan off about six years early.
What documents do I need for a mortgage?
- Two recent pay stubs and your last two W-2s, or two years of tax returns if self-employed.
- Two months of statements for every asset account you want counted.
- Your government ID and Social Security number.
- For a purchase: the signed purchase contract once you have one.
Do you offer loans to self-employed borrowers?
Yes. We underwrite self-employed borrowers using two years of filed returns, and we can also consider 12 or 24 months of bank statements through our stated-income program for established businesses. Ask your loan officer which path fits your situation.
